Mass communication is the practical applications of journalism. Offered by Carleton University’s School of Journalism and Communications in collaboration with the Canada-India Centre for Excellence and Carleton’s academic Faculties.
1 Month Module
Week 1
Foundations of Journalism, concepts, issues and challenges on international front
Week 2
Fundamentals of reporting, build skills in interviewing, writing, storytelling, editing and ethics
Week 3
Communications Law, Canadian and international legal systems responsibilities of media practitioners
Week 4
International affairs reporting, examine diplomacy, war, terrorism, migration the international economy, development and other issues of interest to journalists
Please note it is mandatory to take the ELCCC (English Language and Cross Cultural Communication) course first, which runs for one month as well. The short‐term ELCCC program is specifically meant for Indian students and recent graduates who seek global exposure.Learning outcomes for the ELCCC course are –
